A Florida woman has been charged with second-degree murder after her roommate was last seen on Christmas Day two years ago.

According to one statement by the Orlando Police Department on Facebook, Gisselle Victoria-Gonzalez has been charged with one count of second-degree murder, one count of tampering with physical evidence and one count of grand theft in the ongoing investigation into the disappearance of Runyleidy Medina-Pacheco.

Medina-Pacheco, 42, was reported missing on December 27, 2022. Victoria-Gonzalez, also 42, contacted police to say she had not seen her roommate since December 25, 2022, but as authorities’ investigation continued, “detectives discovered numerous inconsistencies in Victoria-Gonzalez’s version of events,” according to OPD.

“A search warrant was executed at their residence where significant evidence was recovered indicating that a violent incident had occurred,” the police statement continued.

Several local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies were able to locate Victoria-Gonzalez, who lives in Hartford, Connecticut, and after further interviewing her, police were able to arrest and charge her with Victoria-Gonzalez.

One video released by OPD, Victoria-Gonzalez can be seen in a red dress and handcuffs as she is led to an elevator by law enforcement.

According to police, Medina-Pacheco’s body has not been located.

According to the local press institution NBC Connecticutauthorities said Medina-Pacheco traveled from her home in the Dominican Republic to Orlando for an extended vacation in October 2022 and was staying with an acquaintance she knew from home.
