Motorcyclist dies in crash with van in Larbert as police appeal for witnesses

A motorcyclist has died following a crash with a van in Falkirk as police appealed for more witnesses.

Officers were called to Bellsdyke Road, at the junction with Kincardine Road in Larbert, at around 11.50am on Thursday to reports of the collision.

The 67-year-old rider was pronounced dead at the scene, while the van driver was uninjured.

The road was closed for about six hours while police investigated.

Inquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances and officers are appealing for witnesses.

Police Sergeant Scott Kirkpatrick said: “My thoughts are with the family and friends of the man who died. We will continue to provide them with support as our investigations continue.

“We have already spoken to a number of witnesses but would like to appeal to anyone else who saw what happened or has information that can assist us in our enquiries.

“Similarly, if you have footage from Bellsdyke Road around 11.50am yesterday, please review this and bring anything important to our attention.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland 101 citing reference 1269 of 7 November 2024.
