Oak Ridge R-VI Schools celebrate 150 years

OAK RIDGE, Mo. (KFVS) – Oak Ridge R-VI is celebrating 150 years.

Oak Ridge’s sesquicentennial celebration is scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 9, according to the school. The celebration will take place rain or shine, starting at 8am.

The event will include a 5K run/walk, a corn scramble, games, tours of the school, student performances and an alumni dinner, all held at the school.

On Saturday, December 7, at 2:30 p.m., there will be a sesquicentennial parade.

Superintendent Dr. Sonia Wood said Oak Ridge is the oldest school in Cape Girardeau County.
