Woman Charged After Deputies Attack During Elder Abuse Arrest

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – A woman is behind bars after allegedly abusing an elderly person and assaulting several law enforcement officials during her arrest.

Pettis County, Missouri, Circuit Court records filed Monday, Nov. 4, revealed Sarah E. Setzer, 34, of Green Ridge, was charged with elder abuse. She was charged with two counts of assault, elder abuse and resisting or interfering with arrest.

The Pettis County Sheriff’s Office indicated that on Nov. 3, law enforcement was called to a residence with reports of abuse of an elderly person. When they arrived, they found that Setzer had punched an elderly man twice in the face.

As law enforcement tried to arrest Setzer, they said she kicked one of them as she continued to fight and make threats in an attempt to avoid arrest.

As of Thursday, Nov. 7, Setzer remains behind bars in Pettis County on a $5,000 bond. No hearings have yet been scheduled in this case.
