Lincoln man arrested after threats, shots fired reported during domestic dispute

LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) – A man was arrested early Wednesday after he threatened a woman with a gun for hours, according to Lincoln police.

Lincoln police said Stanley McDuffie, 50, got into an argument with a 42-year-old woman, who locked herself in a bedroom for safety.

McDuffie allegedly entered the room, taking his phone along with a lock box with a gun inside. Lincoln police said McDuffie then went back down and the woman heard two gunshots. No one was injured.

Police said the woman remained in the bedroom for several hours as McDuffie continued to threaten her. Finally, she texted a friend, who arrived home with a baseball bat.

McDuffie allegedly threatened the friend, causing her to call the police. Officers arrived at the home near 70th Street and Leighton Avenue around 3:45 a.m. and found a .380-caliber handgun and an unfired round on the porch, along with the damaged phone and baseball bat, police said.

McDuffie was taken into custody and arrested on suspicion of making terroristic threats, domestic assault and criminal mischief.
