Meghan McCain shouts ‘View’ for lack of conservative host

Meghan McCain called out “The View” for not having a panelist who voted for President-elect Donald Trump in the 2024 election.

“It’s a real crime on the part of ABC news that there isn’t a single conservative woman on The View this morning who voted for Trump or is simply not rebuffed by his supporters to explain to America why he’s still so popular.” it wrote on X Wednesday.

A representative for “The View” did not immediately respond to Page Six’s request for comment.

McCain, who is the daughter of the late Senator John McCain, co-hosted the talk show from 2017 to 2021 alongside Joy Behar, Whoopi Goldberg, Sunny Hostin and Sara Haines, all of whom are still on the current panel with Ana. Navarro and Alyssa Farah Griffin.

Despite being a Republican for more than 15 years, Meghan was critical of Trump’s policies — and declared that she will not vote for him or Vice President Kamala Harris this year.

“I have great respect for the wide variety of political views of all my family members, and I love them all very much,” she wrote on X in September. “However, I remain a proud member of the Republican Party and hope for brighter days ahead. (I’m not voting for Harris or Trump, hope that clears things up).”

After Meghan, 40, left “The View,” network replaced her with Griffina lifelong Republican who served in the Trump administration in 2020 during his first presidency.

However, Griffin, 35, criticized Trump’s latest bid for the White House, revealing on Tuesday’s episode of the show that he had voted for Harris.

“For the first time in my life, I voted for a Democrat,” she announced. “I voted for Kamala Harris.”

Griffin, who shared that he voted for Republicans elsewhere on the ballot, chose Harris, 60, for her “values” as “a good, decent person who will bring this country together ” – despite disagreeing with “many of her policies. “

The rest of the “View” co-hosts told viewers they also cast their votes for the veep.

After Trump won the election On Wednesday morning, Griffin admitted it was time to take “a moment to listen to the voters” and learn “some lessons.”

“What’s important to me is this: Tens of millions — our friends, our neighbors, our family members — voted for Donald Trump,” she said. “We don’t agree with him, but they are good, decent people who are patriots, who love this country. … It’s a time for us to listen and hear each other express what our concerns are.”

Trump won both the Electoral College and the popular vote, including the battleground states of Pennsylvania and Georgia.

Meghan has long criticized her former co-hosts, even once calling them “crazy old men” who “just shouts about me all the time”.

As a result, the host of the “Citizen McCain” podcast did said “not a chance in hell” would be asked to return to “The View” — or would.

“I don’t talk to any of the main co-hosts that I was with, but I still have friends that work on the show and people that I’ve bonded with,” she exclusively told Page Six in May.

Meghan has not revealed who she is in touch with because she “doesn’t want them to be bullied for still being her boyfriend”.

“I actually have some interesting relationships with the co-hosts that have been on the show that weren’t on my seasons,” she said, naming Rosie O’Donnell, Jenny McCarthy and Elisabeth Hasselbeck.

When Meghan left the New York show in 2021, she said she wanted to focus on other ventures and move her family to Washington, DC. She later though she claimed she “didn’t feel supported” when she returned from maternity leave earlier that year.

“I finally got back on the show, and the day I got back on the show, Joy Behar said on the air,No one missed youwe didn’t miss you, you shouldn’t have come back,'” McCain recalled in a 2022 interview on “The Commentary Magazine Podcast.”

“And I just… I started crying hysterically. Sorry guys, I know, I started nursing on air and started crying.”

Meghan recalled running back to her office and throwing up before her brother convinced her to leave the show.

“I didn’t feel supported when I had the baby and I didn’t feel supported going back and that was it in the end,” she said. “That’s why I left!”
