Seven more deaths from dengue were reported in the 24 hours to Thursday morning (November 7), bringing the number of deaths from the mosquito-borne disease in Bangladesh to 337 this year.

In the latest deaths, four were reported in Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC), two in Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) and the rest in Khulna division (outside city corporations).

During that period, another 1,209 patients were hospitalized with viral fever, according to the General Directorate of Health Services (DGHS).

Among them, 251 dengue patients were admitted to hospital under Dhaka North City Corporation, while 155 were admitted to Dhaka South City Corporation.

About 4,326 patients are receiving treatment in various hospitals in the country.

A total of 69,456 dengue cases have been reported since January 1, 2024.

Last year, 1,705 people lost their lives to dengue, the deadliest year on record.

DGHS recorded 321,179 dengue cases and 3,18,749 recoveries last year.
