Missing Suzanne Simpson’s daughter says father ‘took my mother’s life’

Texas Luxury Realtor Suzanne Simpson has been missing for over a month, and while her husband Brad Simpson has been accused of assaulting her prior to her disappearance, their daughter believes her father “took my mother’s life”.

“My mom was abused by my dad,” Chandler Simpson, 20, wrote on Instagram. “My father took my mother’s life in a fit of rage and control,” The San Antonio Express-News reported.

Suzanne Simpson, 51, disappeared on October 6 after allegedly fighting with her husband of 22 years in Olmos Park in the San Antonio area.

A neighbor told police he saw Brad and Suzanne fighting the night of Oct. 6 and later heard screams coming from a nearby wooded area, according to the arrest affidavit obtained by Fox News Digital. The neighbor observed that “Ms. Simpson was trying to escape Mr. Simpson’s grip as he tried to pull her down,” the report continued.

The couple’s youngest child told school staff that her parents had argued and that her father punched her mother in the face and possibly pushed her into a wall, and he took her cellphone, according to the affidavit liability.

“In our community this should not happen and I will not stop speaking as my mother’s voice until she is found. I will forever represent all victims abuse and domestic violenceChandler Simpson continued in her post. “As my mother’s daughter, I will tell our story over and over. With every breath, I will make sure you remember her name. Suzanne Simpson was a victim of abuse and a victim of to this community. Beyond being a victim, she was a phenomenal, hardworking, driven, loving and kind mother.”

Brad Simpson was originally charged with assault on a family member causing bodily injury, unlawful restraint for the Oct. 6 incident with his wife. He was later charged with possession of a prohibited weapon and eventually charged with tampering/fabricating physical evidence. He is being held on $3 million bond.

Despite the allegations against him, authorities have not charged him in connection with his wife’s disappearance.

“Those who choose to remain silent choose to turn a blind eye to domestic violence in our homes. My mother tried to leave my father and lost her life,” Simpson’s 20-year-old daughter wrote.

“Shame on my community for not talking about domestic violence. In Alamo Heights, women are marginalized by society and misogyny every day and told to keep their mouths shut. THIS IS THE TIME TO TALK. SPEAK FOR MY MOTHER. the voice will be heard, my mother fought for her life, she fought for her family and for herself.”

Before his daughter’s words, Brad Simpson’s brother condemned his lack of cooperation with law enforcement.

“It is essential to assist the investigators, especially in a case where a mother of four is missing. As both a husband and a father, I find it unimaginable that anyone would refuse to cooperate when the life of a loved one may be in danger,” Barton Simpson. MySA said. “In this situation, cooperation could provide answers to help the family find closure or move on. “The fact that Brad refuses to assist – even at some risk to himself – demonstrates a worrying lack of empathy for those he claims to love.”

He answered Brad Simpson’s attorney, Steven Gilmore, who called charges against his client “ridiculous,“, writing in a Facebook post, “The truly ridiculous thing is that Brad refuses to cooperate with the authorities while his wife is missing, leaving his children and family in pain.”

Barton Simpson told police Brad Simpson called him and apologized for all the trouble he caused, according to the arrest affidavit.

Texas Real Estate Tycoon SENT SUBJECT TEXTS TO BUSINESS PARTNER DAYS AFTER WIFE DISAPPEARED: DOCUMENTS

“Normally, when a person is not involved in criminal activity, they will voluntarily talk to law enforcement,” attorney and former homicide detective Ted Williams previously told Fox News Digital. “But if the individual feels it law enforcement he specifically suspects them of being involved in criminal activity, such as his wife, Suzanne Simpson, being involved in some form of foul play, then naturally he won’t talk to them about whether he engaged or not with a lawyer or not. I will talk to them”.

Authorities searched extensively for Suzanne, including brooms in Olmos Park, surrounding wooded areas and a southeast Bexar County landfill, but she was not located.

Suzanne’s mother, Barbara Clark, previously recounted News 4 San Antonio that she doesn’t believe her daughter is alive.

James “Val” Cotter, Brad Simpson’s longtime friend and business partner, is accused of hiding Brad’s gun after he sent him a series of ominous texts just days after his wife disappeared.

“He has shown that he will do whatever it takes to protect (Brad Simpson),” said District Attorney Casey Sandoval. The San Antonio Express-News reported. She said Cotter lied to authorities twice about the gun to try to protect Brad Simpson. Cotter and Brad Simpson have been friends for 25 years, investigators said.

Cotter was arrested on October 21 and charged with tampering with evidence and possession of a prohibited weapon, both third-degree felonies. Authorities said his case is related to the investigation into the disappearance of Suzanne Simpson, the news outlet added.

His bond was set at $1 million and he was in court Monday and Tuesday seeking to have his bond reduced. The judge adjourned the hearing on Tuesday because Cotter’s mother, who was due to testify, had a delayed flight. reported the local outlet.

Cotter’s attorney, Robert Maurer, argued that Cotter’s $1 million bond was unconstitutional, KSAT reported. “The only reason the state wants these high bonds is to keep him in jail,” Maurer said.

Suzanne Simpson’s family and friends showed up in the courtroom during Cotter’s hearing to show their support for the missing mother, holding up the missing person poster during the hearing, media reported.

“What is unusual is that this was a woman who worked and was very reliable and loved her children and was always in contact with her children, her family and her friends. All of a sudden it stopped…,” Olmos Park Police Chief Fidel Villegas previously said.
