The second juvenile carjacking in a week rattles the Highlandtown neighborhood

BALTIMOREMD — A Baltimore neighborhood was hit by its second carjacking in less than a week, both incidents allegedly by juveniles, according to police.

The most recent incident occurred Nov. 2 in the 200 block of South Bouldin Street in Highlandtown, where a grocery delivery driver was targeted. Police say the driver was returning to his car when two youths dressed in black and suspected of carrying a handgun approached him. The suspects demanded the driver’s keys and cellphone before driving off in his vehicle, officials said.

While the driver was unharmed, the incident raised concerns among residents in Highlandtown, where carjackings and other violent crimes have increasingly involved younger suspects.

The carjacking came just days after a separate incident involving minors in the same area. A woman in the 300 block of South Bouldin Street reported being targeted by juvenile suspects in an attempted robbery, although police have not released additional details about the case.

Both incidents remain under investigation and no arrests have been made in either case. Police have not said if they believe the two incidents are related, but are asking the public for any information that could help identify the suspects.
