The Online Safety Commission has condemned acts of uploading intimate videos and photos of individuals without their consent on social media.

This after the commission was informed that several social media accounts had uploaded intimate videos and photos without people’s consent.

The OSC urges members of the public who are victims of such abuses to file complaints as soon as possible.

The commission clarifies that posting intimate material with other people is classified as image-based abuse.

The OSC says it can only take steps to remove such content from social media platforms after victims featured in the content have filed a formal complaint.

After receiving a complaint, the commission will analyze the situation and discuss the issue with the victim.

The Commission will then contact the relevant social media platform to request the removal of the content.

OSC encourages people to come forward, stressing that its aim is to help and support those affected by such abusive acts.
