ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) – Scattered showers persist across parts of north Georgia this evening, mainly along and south of the I-85 corridor. Expect showers to taper off overnight as temperatures drop into the mid to low 60s across the area.

A flood watch is in effect for Jasper, Putnam, Morgan and Greene counties. Heavy rain could lead to rising creeks and some road flooding in this area.

The First Alert forecast had a tendency to be a bit drier on Thursday and Friday. Heading into the weekend, we will watch tropical moisture return to the area.
