Savannus Mallet accused of stabbing another man

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (Waffle) – A Huntsville man was arrested after allegedly stabbing another man Tuesday night.

According to the Huntsville Police Department, around 6:30 p.m., in the 2200 block of Memorial Parkway, an officer was patrolling the area when a citizen flagged them down to a nearby motel parking lot.

Officers then found a male victim on the ground with injuries consistent with a stab wound.

Witnesses told police the victim and the suspect were in an alleged altercation where the suspect assaulted the victim with a knife.

Police said witnesses gave them a description of the suspect and officers were able to locate a suspect matching the description.

A male suspect was then detained for questioning.

Police said the victim was taken to Huntsville Hospital with serious physical injuries. Authorities believe this was an isolated incident.

Police said the suspect has been identified as Savannus Terone Mallet, 27, of Huntsville.

He was arrested and charged with first degree assault. He was booked into the Madison County Jail. His bond is set at $10,000.
