THE NEXT BIG THING: Hurricane Rafael it’s a category 1 storm at 5:30 wednesday. It is expected to become a Category 2 storm by Thursday as it moves into the Gulf.

Hurricane Rafael
Hurricane Rafael(WBRC)

Raphael will interact with “cooler” Gulf waters, very dry air and strong wind shear that will weaken it before making landfall this weekend along the Louisiana coast. As for Alabama. humidity with this system is high and will bring scattered showers to our state over the weekend. If Raphael moves further west, this will limit the amount of rain we will see. So far over the weekend we could see less than half an inch of rain. Alabama fans traveling to LSU should prepare for a rain shower on Saturday. Those staying in the city should also expect scattered showers.

Veterans Day
Veterans Day(WBRC)

Veterans Day is Monday and you can expect temperatures in the mid 70s with a good mix of sun and clouds. There will not be a big change in temperature for the next seven days. This is a very mild start to November.
