Malayalam actor Nivin Pauly got a big relief in the sexual assault case. On November 6, Pauly was acquitted of the serious charge against the actor.

In September 2024, Nivin was charged with rape after a 40-year-old woman accused him and five others of sexually assaulting her in Dubai. The complainant, who is from Kerala’s Ernakulam district, allegedly said the actor assaulted her after he promised her a role in a film in November 2023.

However, the actor got a clean slate from the investigation team. According to reports, during the investigation it was found that Pauly was not present at the location at the said time and date.

The Deputy Superintendent of Police (DYSP) has submitted a report to the First Class Magistrate, Kothamangalam, Ernakulam, stating that Nivin’s name has been removed from the list. He was the sixth accused in the report.

However, the investigation continues for the other five accused in the case.

After Nivin proved himself well, he shared a message of gratitude for all his fans. Taking to Instagram, he shared a post that read, “Thank you from the bottom of my heart to everyone who stood by me. Thank you for all the love, prayers and support.”

Pauly was booked following the release of the Justice K Hema Committee report which highlighted the dire plight of women working in the Malayalam film industry. Several famous actors, directors, and filmmakers faced sexual assault allegations after the report was published.

Pauly responded to the accusation by calling it false and completely untrue. He wrote in an IG post, “I came across a fake news story accusing me of abusing a girl. Please know that this is completely untrue. I am determined to go to any lengths to prove that these allegations are baseless and will take all necessary steps to bring those responsible to light. Thank you for your concern. The rest will be dealt with legally.”
