Atishi filed an application before Additional Sessions Judge Vishal Gogne against a court’s order summoning her in the criminal case filed by BJP spokesperson Praveen Shankar Kapoor.

Kapoor accused Atishi and former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal of defaming him with her claim that several A MLAs were approached by the saffron party with offers of money to topple the A government.

The judge ordered Atishi to file his rejoinder by November 22.

“It is submitted, on behalf of the petitioner, that a short adjournment is necessary to file a rejoinder to the counter-argument filed by the respondent. Prayer is allowed. The rejoinder to be filed by the petitioner before the next date with a copy in advance to the respondent. List for submissions on November 22, 2024,” the judge said.

On May 28, the Magistrate Court issued a summons to Atishi in the case. The court, however, refused to summon Kejriwal as an accused in the case.

Later on July 23, the court granted Atishi bail after she appeared before it on summons.

Atishi was reported to have claimed that 21 A MPs were contacted by the BJP, who offered 25 lakh to each of them, to switch to the saffron camp.

Accusing Atishi of making false claims about the poaching attempts on MPs A, Kapoor moved the court with a criminal defamation complaint.

He said the A leader had not provided evidence to support her claim.
