Mussi indicted for murder by Barbour County grand jury | News, Sports, Jobs

PHILIPPI – Michael Mussi Jr. has been indicted for murder by a Barbour County grand jury.

A total of 25 people were indicted on Monday.

Mussi, 26, was charged with murder; use or presentation of a firearm during the commission of a crime; and four counts of wanton endangerment involving a firearm.

In March, Mussi was arrested the morning after the shooting death of Tanner Talbott of Belington.

Police had been looking for Mussi since the previous afternoon after a fatal shooting near the Philippi Covered Bridge.

In other indictments:

Brian Randall Watson was indicted on 15 counts of third-degree sexual assault; one count of third-degree sexual assault; 16 counts of sexual abuse by parent, guardian or custodian; eight counts of computer solicitation of a minor; one count of solicitation of a minor by computer with an open act to engage in sexual activity with a minor; two counts of solicitation of a minor by means other than computer; one count of using obscene matter with intent to seduce a minor; and four counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

Christopher Dean Lampkin was charged with reckless endangerment involving a firearm and domestic assault.

Isiah Joseph Harlan was indicted for distribution and display to a minor of obscene matter.

Gary Dale Trantham was charged with malicious assault.

Franklin Perry Brown was indicted for failure to render aid and delivery of drugs resulting in death.

Elizabeth Ann Fridley was charged with failure to render aid.

Nevaeh Paige Bennett was charged with six counts of access device fraud.

Rebecca Dawn Eskew was charged with access device fraud.

Michael Lee Vangilder Jr. was indicted for manufacturing a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver.

Alexander Nathaniel Walker was indicted for possession of a controlled substance with intent to conspire.

Carrie Ellen Pritt was charged with manufacturing a controlled substance.

Heather Rae Poe was charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver.

Ashley Rene Phillips was charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to conspire.

Michael Anthony Reed was indicted for burglary and theft.

Kevin Lee Redding was charged with attempted burglary and burglary.

Robert Allen Swiger was indicted for fleeing in a vehicle while under the influence; without insurance; driving a vehicle without a license; improper use of registration evidence; reckless driving; and assault.

Trista Nichol Roberts was charged with eight counts of intent to defraud by access device.

James Bradley Stuart Jr. was charged with access device fraud.

Tyler Paul Shipp was charged with failure to appear; and fleeing in a vehicle in a manner showing reckless indifference to the safety of others.

Michael Tyler Lynch was charged with theft.

Betty Jo Mayle was charged with fraudulent schemes and conspiracy.

Mary Jane Judy was charged with fraudulent schemes and conspiracy.

Christopher David Hamrick was indicted for fraudulent schemes.

David Lee Golden was charged with driving while license revoked For driving under the influence of alcohol – third offense.

Arnold Alfred Lipscomb was indicted on two counts of failure to register or provide notice of change in sex offender registry information – first offense.

The Barbour County grand jury convened Monday for the October term, officials said. Presentations were made by District Attorney Andrew Lynn Phillips and Assistant District Attorney Kelsey Gross. The Grand Jury was presided over by Circuit Judge Shawn D. Nines of the 19th Judicial Circuit.

Arraignments will be held Nov. 26 beginning at 9 a.m. in the Barbour County Courtroom. All defendants are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
