President-elect Donald Trump sing from Elon Musk praise during his victory speech Wednesday morning, calling him both a “super genius” and a “star.”

Trump happened upon the subject when someone in the crowd repeatedly called out Musk’s name, prompting the president-elect to remark, “Oh, let me tell you, we’ve got a new star. A star is born – Elon!”

“An amazing guy. We were staying together tonight. You know, he spent two weeks in Philadelphia, in different parts of Pennsylvania, campaigning. You know, the rocket went off two weeks ago. And I saw that rocket and I saw it come down. And I saw him, he was, when he left, he was beautiful, bright, white. When it fell, it didn’t look so pretty. It was going 16,000 miles an hour and burning like hell,” he continued. “I said, ‘What happened to your paint job?’ He said, “I’ve never made a paint that can withstand that kind of heat.” And I saw her go down and come back. And it was, you know, like I’m saying 22 stories, by the way, it looks a little smaller than that, but it’s big. And it came down, and it came down, and you saw that fire burning, and I said, “Only Elon can do that. It must be an Elon.”

He continued to continue to praise Musk for the technological advances his companies have been at the forefront of, as has his own RUNNING North Carolina’s Starlink after Hurricane Helene, claiming Musk “saved a lot of lives.”

“But he is a character. He’s a special guy, he’s a super genius,” Trump concluded. “We have to protect our geniuses, we don’t have that many of them. We have to protect our super-geniuses.”
