Sapulpa instructor arrested in connection with a tip about child sexual abuse material

An instructor at the Central Technology Center in Sapulpa was arrested in connection with a cyber tip regarding child sexual abuse material.

Ryan Matthew Matthias, 48, is also a former Creek County law enforcement officer.

On September 12, the Sapulpa Police Department requested the assistance of the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation (OSBI) regarding the cyber tip.

Agents reviewed the files online and found some explicit images.

On November 5, OSBI’s Internet Crimes Against Children Unit (ICAC), along with the Sapulpa Police Department and the Muscogee Nation Lighthorse executed a search warrant at Matthias’ home and workplace.

Officials recovered digital devices during the search.

Based on the information and evidence they obtained, Matthais was arrested and booked into the Creek County Jail.

Charges are still pending and the investigation is ongoing.
