‘Little Fighter’ still hospitalized a month after being attacked by a dog

A four-year-old Canadian boy is still hospitalized a month after being mauled by a dog in his neighborhood.

Declan MacDonell, 4, suffered serious injuries in the attack on October 8, according to The Northumberland News.

The boy was rushed to Northumberland Hills Hospital and later flown to SickKids hospital in Toronto for nine hours of emergency surgery, Northumberland News reported.

“Declan continues to be a brave little fighter flanked by his incredible parents,” says a GoFundMe page created to help his parents with hospital expenses.

“We all continue to be so grateful for your support, which continues to have an incredibly positive impact,” the post read. “We are all still processing, with shock and horror, the gravity and weight of all of this.”
