Man sets fire that destroys Little League equipment in NJ city, cops say

A 43-year-old Salem County man has been charged with arson in a fire that destroyed two storage sheds at the Monroe Township Little League complex in Gloucester County, police said Tuesday.

Police responded to the fire at 1:26 a.m. Sept. 3 at the Church Street complex, where little league equipment stored in sheds was damaged.

Firefighters determined the fire was set intentionally, police said.

Anthony Lindsey, of Woodstown, was charged with second-degree aggravated arson and third-degree criminal mischief with damage over $2,000, court records show.

Lindsey was arrested Monday by the US Marshals Service New York/New Jersey Regional Task Force and booked into the Salem County Jail, where he remained Tuesday.

Attorney information for Lindsey was not immediately available in court records.
