The Raiders offense can’t get all the blame

For the second straight season, the Las Vegas Raiders offense was one of the worst in the league, leading to the firing of offensive coordinator Luke Getsy. However, as bad as the offense has played this season, it is expected to struggle as there are significant holes on that side of the roster.

However, Las Vegas’ defense was not expected to struggle the way it has in recent weeks. The unit has allowed 27 points or more in five of its previous seven games. The Raiders defense was ravaged by injuries and lost multiple players against the Cincinnati Bengals.

However, Raiders coach Antonio Pierce has been disappointed with their recent performances.

“Look, it’s been disappointing the last two weeks,” Pierce said. “I think in the last five weeks, we’ve given up 30-plus points three out of the last five, that’s not up to our standard. These guys are fighting them. tails off, problems now appear a bit in the red zone.

“We were pretty good in the red zone, good on third down. These have now been a bit of a nemesis for us and I think we need to fix them.

“And again, like I just talked to the coaches and Patrick Graham about just going back to the drawing boards, man, going back to what we do well, detailing assignments. And it’s not the coaches, it’s the players doing their jobs and what they’re asked to do. And we have to do that to the best of our ability.”

Although the Raiders offense has been particularly bad this season, they were expected to be the team’s weak link. The defense was expected to play much better than it did. Pierce made it clear that the entire team has issues to work out following the bye week.

“So this isn’t just on offense, though I made changes to the attackthis is a team issue. This is a coaching staff that we have to fix first before we go down the stairs to the first floor and we’re going to take care of it with each other as players and staff because we’re all in this together, man.

“Listen, every call is not right, every player is not playing well, but we have to do it together. We need to stop with the details and the excuses and do our job as well as we can.”
