Knoxville officers are charging the Bearden High School student who made the threat, police said

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) – Another Knox County Schools student has been charged with threatening mass violence, according to the Knoxville Police Department.

KPD’s Scott Erland made the announcement Tuesday morning, saying a late-night investigation led to the arrest. According to Erland, officers were told a 15-year-old Bearden High School student had made the threat, prompting them to respond to a home in West Knoxville.

Tennessee Homeland Security agents and officers from the Knox County Sheriff’s Office assisted in the investigation, Erland said.

The student was taken into custody and charged, marking the latest in a string of East Tennessee students to face consequences for making threats.
