A poll to determine the most supported club in the world has been completed and the results have shocked fans.

The Premier League it is by far the most watched competitive football division in the world, with many considering it to be the highest level of any domestic competition.

However, there are clubs across Europe whose fanbases can rival those of Premier League sides, with the likes of real madrid, Barcelona, Inter/AC Milan and Bayern Munich which could all lay claim to being the biggest and best in the world.

Well, thanks In the whole censusnow we can find out which club is on top… Well, sort of.

In the summer of 2024, the organization surveyed 8,220 fans from: UK, US, Brazil, Nigeria, Japan, Italy, Turkey and South Korea.

While the sample size isn’t the largest, the cream of the crop still rose to the top, with Real Madrid and Barcelona taking the top two spots with over 26% of the vote between them.

However, there have been some strange results with Tottenham and Manchester City standing before Liverpool which received only 5.06% of the votes.

Unsurprisingly, Man United were the best-placed English team in third place with 9.79% of the vote.

Unsurprisingly, fans contested the legitimacy of the list, particularly with Liverpool’s placement.

One fan commented: “Not at all convinced that Spurs and City have better global support than Liverpool.”

Another added: “Such a small sample size makes it all pointless.”

A third was unimpressed with City’s position and replied: “How the hell did City get this far?!”
