Telangana Women’s Safety Wing Hosts Pan-India Rescue and Rehabilitation of Child Labor Meet – Telangana Today

Shikha Goel, Director General, Women Safety Wing said that as per the directives of National Commission for Protection of Child Rights, Women Safety Wing started a special rescue and rehabilitation campaign on October 21 and will continue till November 20.

Hyderabad: Women Safety Wing of Telangana Police organized a meeting with various Voluntary Organizations and Government Departments on Rescue and Rehabilitation of Pan India Child Labour.

Shikha Goelsaid Director General, Women Safety Wing, according to National Commission for the Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) Directive, Women Safety Wing started a special campaign on October 21, rescue and rehabilitation and will continue till November 20.


Shikha Goel stressed the need to do proper follow-up action on children rescued from various operations conducted in the past. She emphasized the need to establish a single portal for all stakeholders to facilitate effective monitoring of these post-rescue follow-ups. Officials have been trained on regular updating and revision of hotspot data and to ensure a robust mechanism for frequent monitoring of previously recorded cases and their current status.

Shikha Goel pointed out that through the dedicated efforts of the state Anti-Trafficking in Persons Units (AHTU)thousands of children have been rescued from dangerous and exploitative circumstances, an achievement that has gained national recognition and inspired similar initiatives in other states.

The Pan-India rescue and rehabilitation campaign will focus on rescuing children and adolescents involved in various labor-prone areas of the districts, including small and large establishments such as factories, dhabas, industries, hotels, shops, organized and unorganized sectors, like me, brick. furnaces and construction sites. Rehabilitation of children will be ensured under Juvenile Justice Act 2015 and Child and Adolescent Labor (Prohibition and Regulation) Act 1986.
