CHATHAM – Two more sex-related allegations involving a minor have been made against a Chatham-Kent Health Alliance emergency physician.

Robert Nathanial Wismer was arrested Oct. 25 and charged with sexual assault and sexual interference involving a minor, according to court documents.

According to the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario website, the two new charges stem from alleged incidents that took place between September 28 and 29 involving a person under the age of 16.

A notice previously posted on the doctor’s profile on the CPSO website said Wismer was charged Oct. 14 with sexual assault, sexual interference and solicitation of sexual touching of a person under 16. The alleged crimes took place between August 29 and October 12.

Wismer was scheduled to appear in court on Monday, but was given a Nov. 22 court date on the two new charges. There is a publication ban on the release of any pre-trial evidence to protect the identity of the claimants.

The hospital said that after learning of the allegations against Wismer, he is no longer providing services at Chatham-Kent Health Alliance.

“The Chatham-Kent Alliance understands that the allegations are unrelated to Dr. Wismer’s. medical practice or duties at the hospital and no court has made any finding,” hospital officials said in a statement. “The hospital is looking into the matter.”

Wismer, of Thamesville, joined the hospital in 2019.

The college’s website said Wismer was released with the following conditions, which were revised on October 25:
