A masked thief responsible for stealing items from vehicles has been arrested by police in Ras Al Khaimah. The suspect, aged in his thirties, was apprehended shortly after breaking into several vehicles by smashing their windows.

Law enforcement officers have received multiple complaints of vehicle thefts at various locations in the emirate, according to Dr. Tariq Mohammed bin Saif, director general of police operations.

The thief would break the car windows and steal the goods while wearing a mask to hide his identity. The incident quickly attracted attention on social media, with videos and images of the vehicles targeted for theft being widely shared.

A specialized team was formed to investigate the theft and a comprehensive plan was made to catch the culprit. The team gathered crucial evidence and initiated a search for the suspect. RAK police detained the thief, who was involved in several thefts and identified as a resident of Asia.

During police interviews, the accused admitted to breaking the windows of the vehicle and stealing valuables. He was sent to the prosecutor for further legal proceedings.

The person who posted the footage of the vehicles on social networks was also arrested and will be referred to the prosecutor. According to the police, spreading such content can have a negative impact on ongoing investigations and legal processes and can allow criminals to escape.
