Golden Retriever owners meet with friends to test reactions

Wanting to see if their canine companions remembered each other months later, two owners staged an “accidental trespass” in a park.

The two of them golden retrievers put to the test are seen in an October 29 TikTok videos posted by user @goldenbrudders. The owners knew dog they were brothers, but they wondered if they would remember each other after going to different homes. That’s when they decided to set up a date for the two dogs.

They met in a park where neither dog had been before. The owner who posted the video said in the comments section that instead of giving clues like “Who’s that?” or “Who shall we see?” — while they were walking around the park, they were walking around pretending not to know each other to see how the dogs would react.

In the clip, both dogs stood curiously as they slowly approached each other. But that was all it took. Their tails immediately began to move at the speed of light and circled each other excitedly.

It wasn’t long before the dogs started rolling around on the ground and playing with each other. Safe to say they knew, almost instantly, that they were brothers.

Part of the caption reads, “Finn and Jet’s bond is still as strong as ever and it’s so sweet and healthy every time we see these two play their little puppy hearts out.”

while golden retrievers are known to be affectionate and wanting to make friends with everyone and everything, one of the owners is convinced that these two knew they were brothers. The interaction was unlike any other play session with a dog. The owner said in the comments: “When you know, you know.”

Viewership dropped quickly and the clip has over 1.6 million views and 189,100 likes on TikTok for months.

“So sweet! Watched over and over again. Hope there are lots of playdates and even sleepovers for these brothers,” said one viewer. A second echoed, “Stop, this is so precious!”

Another pointed out: “I like how you pointed out ‘We didn’t tell them!’ because dogs are so smart, this was really an accident.”

Others shared stories of similar situations: “We met our dog and his mate and they were hugging on their hind legs. You could say they knew.”
