A Detroit man will spend more than a decade in prison for his Morgantown drug bust

MORGANTOWN, W.Va (WDTV) – A Detroit man was sentenced Monday to more than a decade in federal prison for his role in a Morgantown drug operation.

Shakur Jones, 25, was sentenced to 12 years and seven months for conspiracy to distribute a controlled substance and possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.

Jones was supplier of methamphetamine, cocaine base and fentanyl for a drug trafficking conspiracy in Morgantown, court documents say. Over a kilogram of methamphetamine was found in a Morgantown residence and a photo of 10 kilograms of prepackaged methamphetamine was found on Jones’ phone.

Jones will also serve three years of supervised release after his prison term.

Three other defendants, Nolan Eickleberry27, of Morgantown; John Thomas, 46, of Morgantown; and Dorian Myles, 26, of Detroit, each admitted their roles in the drug-trafficking conspiracy, officials said.

Eickleberry was sentenced in August 2024 to seven years and three months in prison. Thomas and Myles are still awaiting sentencing.

The Mon Metro Drug Task Force and the Drug Enforcement Administration investigated the case.
