Middlesbrough riot: Two jailed for violent disorder

Two men have been jailed for violent disorder during this summer’s riots.

Riots broke out in Middlesbrough on August 4 during a protest that started at the town’s cenotaph.

Akheel Khan, 24, of Wheatley Close in Middlesbrough, who pleaded guilty to violent disorder, appeared at Teesside Crown Court and was sentenced to 15 months.

Meanwhile Ashley Ferguson, 34, of Somerset Street in Middlesbrough, who was charged with a number of offences, including violent disorder, was also jailed for 30 months.
