The shooting was reported at 5:49 a.m. in the 3300 block of East Fifth Avenue near John Glenn Columbus International Airport.

The person was taken to Grant Medical Center and pronounced dead at 6:21 a.m., police said.

The preliminary investigation shows the suspect and victim were involved in a dispute prior to the shooting, according to police.

After the shooting, the suspect, 30-year-old Awil Salah Mohamed, drove to another location and surrendered to officers and was arrested.

Police say the victim has been tentatively identified but is awaiting confirmation from the Franklin County Medical Examiner.
