Man ‘trapped’ in car seriously injured after hitting railings – police appeal to find driver

The 24-year-old passenger was treated for trauma by ambulance crews who rushed to the scene on Kingsbury Road in Erdington at 4.46am on Sunday (November 3rd).

An ambulance spokeswoman said: “On arrival crews found a male passenger trapped in the car in a serious condition.

“The ambulance crew worked quickly with fellow firefighters to quickly extricate him from the car while providing trauma care.

“The man was stabilized at the scene before being taken by blue light ambulance to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham for further trauma care. No other occupants were found at the scene.”

Sunday, West Midlands Police issued an appeal prompting two people who left the scene accident, believed to be the driver of the vehicle and a second passenger, to come forward.

The force said the collision happened at the junction of Chester Road and Kingsbury Road and appealed for witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage or information to get in touch.
