Matthew Lewis believes there was one thing in particular that kept the “child actors” in the cast Harry Potter to become victims of the “carriage” only of all the “pressure”.

During a solo panel at Rhode Island Comic Con on Sunday, Nov. 3, the 35-year-old actor reflected on his experience working on the popular film series that catapulted him and his co-stars, including Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint, to worldwide fame.

During the panel’s Q&A, Lewis shared his perspective on why the franchise’s young cast has been able to avoid many of the challenges that often follow child stars in the spotlight.

“One of the questions that was asked earlier about the pitfalls of being a child actor that I seem to have avoided, I would guess that was largely because we were all in there together,” he explained.

“You often hear a lot of stories about how they were the only actor in that movie and they had to carry that movie by themselves and all the pressures and anxieties that come with that. While we were all good together.”

Lewis continued that “many of the fears we had were all shared and the thing is that no one else in the world will ever really understand what we’ve been through and how it’s affected our lives personal, except for others. “

He also said it was “wonderful” and “a lot of fun” working with the cast all these years.

“One of the things I’ve carried with me is those friendships,” Lewis said. “I’m not going back to read the books. One of the only things I still hold on to are those relationships we built over the course of these films.”

Lewis played the role of Neville Longbottom in Harry Potter series of films.
