Massachusetts residents say they’re being trolled with fake Harris postcards saying migrant family is moving

Residents of a Massachusetts community say they are being bombarded with fake Kamala Harris campaign postcards informing them that a migrant family would move in with them because of them. support for Vice President Harris.

One of the inhabitants of Shrewsbury NBC10 Boston said that she received the postcard after putting up a sign in her yard endorsing Harris and Tim Walz.

“It really scared me,” the woman, who did not want to be identified, told NBC10.

The postcard, made to look like Harris-Walz campaign mail, thanked her for putting up a sign and showed her support and warned her that a family from Nicaragua would move into her house.

“That’s when I realized it was an obvious attempt to try to either scare me or bait me into anger and anger,” the woman explained. “It’s really sad that the country has gotten to this point where you can’t put up a lawn sign and support a candidate without being harassed with something like that.”

Another resident of Shrewsbury claimed to have received a similar postcard in the mail, except hers said a family of five would be moving from Guatemala.

“It makes me angry,” the woman, who also did not want to be identified, told NBC10. “But if the rule is, ‘Don’t put up a lawn sign in support of a political candidate,’ I feel the exact opposite. The next time there is an election, I will put three signs in my yard.”

The resident added that he contacted the Shrewsbury Democratic Town Committee, which told him to file a police report. She was also advised to report the post office if any federal postal laws were violated, NBC10 reported.

A third resident of the Shrewsbury community posted his postcard on Reddit, which matched similar wording from other residents.

“Thank you for supporting Kamala! Thank you so much for posting a yard sign. But now we still need your help,” the postcard reads.

The postcard is addressed to “The Resident” with a Kamala Harris logo posted on the front of the postcard.

“We will be moving a family of 4 from the country of Belize to your home on 3-11-2024. They will need food, toiletries and transportation. Thank you!” the card is read.

It is unclear where the postcards came from, as no political organization or return address was listed.

“Well, someone seems to be upset with my choice of court sign. I thought it was pretty funny so I decided to share it with you all. I could seriously use the help with the leaves if true…” caption. read on reddit post.

Democratic and Republican voters told Fox News they believe border security is an important issue this election cycle.

Last month, the Department of Homeland Security said the terrorist threat environment in the US will remain elevated the following year, largely due to terrorist groups exploiting weak spots on the southern border.

“During the coming year, we expect that some individuals with terrorist ties and some criminal actors will continue their efforts to exploit migration flows and the complex border security environment to enter the United States,” DHS’s October assessment said .

Fox News Digital reached out to the Harris campaign, Shrewsbury Police and the Shrewsbury Democratic Town Committee, but did not immediately hear back.
