Asheville police report arresting a man for burglary as he was leaving the victim’s home

ASHEVILLE, NC (FOX Carolina) – The Asheville Police Department reports they arrested a man on charges of burglary and theft Friday while leaving a residence with stolen items.

Officers report they responded to a home off Glen Falls Road at 1:47 a.m. on Nov. 1 after receiving a call reporting someone breaking into the residence.

Ryan Douglas Ross, 49, was arrested while leaving the residence and found in possession of drugs and several other items that belonged to the homeowner, police said.

According to the police, the residents inside the home were not injured.

Ross was charged with the following:

  • first degree burglary
  • larceny after breaking and entering
  • breaking and entering into a stolen motor vehicle
  • damage to real estate
  • simple possession program II

He was booked into the Buncombe County Detention Center and has a $10,000 bond.
