Jasper County Sheriff-elect Chuck Havard announces administrative support staff

Jasper County Sheriff-elect Chuck Havard is putting the finishing touches on the staff that will assist him when he takes office on Jan. 1, 2025.

He announced that Donna Berger, Kim Boutin and Cynthia Clark will make up the administrative support staff.

Donna Berger of Jasper is an administrative assistant for the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office and will be promoted on January 1, 2025 to senior administrative assistant. He says he has faithfully served the citizens of Jasper County for the past 22 years with the County Auditor’s Office, the County Treasurer’s Office and has been with the Sheriff’s Office for a little over three years. She has two sons and two grandchildren, and her hobbies are spending time with her family (especially her grandchildren).

He says Kim Boutin of Buna will be coming to the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office after a long and distinguished career in public education. She spent 22 years as a classroom teacher before becoming a counselor in the last few years of her career. She is now a counselor at Mauriceville Middle School and will retire at the end of the year to become an administrative assistant for the Sheriff’s Office. He graduated from high school in Buna and earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Lamar University. She has been married to her husband Keith for 33 years. They have three children and a granddaughter. She enjoys camping, hunting, traveling and spending time with her family.

Cynthia Clark of Jasper will be the part-time administrative assistant. She is a lifelong resident of Jasper County and worked in the Jasper County Clerk’s office for many years. She has been working part-time at the sheriff’s office for the past several months and will remain in that capacity. He has two sons, Beau and Alan, and also has four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Her main hobby is spending time with her grandchildren and watching them compete in track and field.

“As with most organizations, law enforcement administrative professionals provide an incredible service to citizens,” says Sheriff-Elect Havard. “They do most of the work behind the scenes and are often the most loyal employees. They are the glue that makes an office run smoothly and efficiently. Their contributions tend to go unnoticed, but they show up every day and get the job done. the support these professionals will provide will ensure our men and women in uniform can spend most of their time in your neighborhoods being proactive I thank them for their willingness to serve and look forward to working with these god, they keep us in line too!”
