That team was the District 3 3A champion Lower Dauphin Falcons, who found out they received an automatic bid to the 3A state quarterfinals by forfeit.

Their opponent was to be District 12 runner-up Benjamin Rush Academy of the Arts, who lost to Archbishop Ryan in the D12 championship game on October 29.

No reason was given to Lower Dauphin for the seizure. as the program was just informed of the decision on Sunday, head coach Nic Amici told PennLive.

According to MaxPreps, Rush was 7-8 the season before the loss to Archbishop Ryan, which was not reflected on the site.

The Falcons now advance to the state quarterfinals on Saturday, where they will face District 6 champion Hollidaysburg and WPIAL runner-up Fox Chapel at a natural site.

LD is fresh off its second District 3 title in three seasons, defeating Cocalico 3-0 in the championship game on Thursday behind a pair of goals from star forward Ashley Economopoulos.
