(This article has been updated to include additional information)

The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office is reviewing viral videos showing Jacksonville police officers punching bystanders during seemingly unrelated altercations during Florida-Georgia game Saturday night at EverBank Stadium.

Mayor Donna Deegan said she spoke with Sheriff TK Waters about the videos.

“I am aware of several disturbing videos circulating since yesterday’s game. I have spoken with Sheriff Waters and the incidents are under investigation. We await the outcome of that investigation,” Deegan posted on X (formerly Twitter) Sunday morning.

A video – posted on X – shows two officers fighting with two spectators in the stands.

Other bystanders could be heard on the video yelling at the officers to stop, including someone yelling “Why are you hitting him?”

The 15-second video posted on X by Ohio’s Tate at Barstool Tateon Saturday night had amassed 15 million views by mid-morning on Sunday.

The video does not show the circumstances of the incident, nor are the officers identified in the video, although both are wearing JSO uniforms.

A separate video shows police using a stun gun on another bystander

A video on Instagram appears to show an argument turning into an altercation between a man and two JSO officers in the stands, First Coast News reportedthe Times-Union news partner.

The video shows an officer deploying his stun gun on the man, who then gets up from his chair and tries to remove the wires from his body. The officer deploys the stun gun again and the man falls forward into the row of seats in front of him, according to the Instagram video.

A fight then breaks out between the man and the officers who are fighting him. At one point, the man can be heard saying “I’m not going to jail.” The struggle continues with officers punching him and then wrestling him into chairs while handcuffing him, the Instagram video shows.

The Instagram video does not show the circumstances that led to the confrontation.

Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office reviewing video

The sheriff’s office posted on social media that it would not comment until its review is complete.

“The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office Professional Standards Division is aware of the videos circulating from the Georgia-Florida football game. Administrative reviews of the incidents are open. As such, the agency will not comment until all facts are known and reviews have not been completed,” the sheriff’s office posted.

The sheriff’s office did not say how long that review might take.
