Channel 4 Submissions and The Sunday Times The investigation revealed details which claim that the Duchy of Cornwall, overseen by Prince William as heir to the throne, has earned substantial income from public bodies and charities over the years.

According to the report, the Duchy has received around £22m since 2005 from rent shares at Camelford House alone.

The inquest further claims that St John Ambulance, where King Charles serves as patron, previously paid almost £60,000 to the Duchy of Cornwall for access to its land.

In addition, the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) faces small charges for using the Duchy-owned ramps in the South West.

The Duchy of Lancaster is understood to have reaped significant financial benefits, including an £11.4m deal with Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Trust to house its fleet of electric ambulances in a Duchy-owned warehouse.

Meanwhile, Cornwall, led by Prince William, is set to earn £37m through a 25-year lease with the Ministry of Justice for Dartmoor Prison.

Despite their reputation as champions of the environment, King Charles and Prince William are battling over control of controversial mining operations on Duchy land.

The allegations include Cornwall leasing land to one of Europe’s biggest polluters.

In response to the findings, a spokesperson for the Duchy of Cornwall defended the property’s practices, saying: “The Duchy of Cornwall is a private property with a commercial imperative, which we pursue alongside our commitment to restoring the natural environment and generating a positive social impact. for our communities.”

Since becoming the Duke of Cornwall in September 2022, the Prince of Wales has committed to transforming the Duchy, aiming to achieve net zero emissions by 2032 and implementing targeted mental health support for tenants, while working with local partners to to tackle homelessness in Cornwall.
