Wake Up Call – Newspaper – DAWN.COM

Wake up call: Palestine has been under the intense wrath of Israel’s brutality for more than a year. Thousands of people, including innocent children, were killed and their homes destroyed. The holy land of Al Aqsa was subjugated and occupied after World War II by the colonial powers to establish Israel. Palestinian Muslims have been fighting to protect their land and holy sites ever since. The current situation is a wake-up call for the entire Muslim world. The time has come to raise our voice against Israel and do something to protect our Palestinian brothers.

BLAST WEBSITE: It has been a few weeks since the unfortunate incident of the suicide bombing in Karachi took place. The road is still cordoned off and the charred remains of the damaged vehicles have not been removed from the scene. The road happens to be the main thoroughfare connecting the outbound traffic from the airport to Sharea Faisal. Due to its closure, drivers have to take a heavy detour. In addition, the presence of damaged vehicles is disturbing for local and foreign visitors. The authorities concerned must speed up the process of evidence collection and open the road for normal traffic as soon as possible.

GENDER TOXICITY: Social media platforms provide a horrible glimpse into the reality of the Pakistani mindset. From political leaders to the man on the street, gender toxicity remains rampant, with male chauvinism ruling the roost. Unfortunately, the mindset speaks volumes about the historical prejudice against women in Pakistani society. Toxic digital spaces on social media platforms have allowed people to bully, harass and silence women. They make offensive remarks about women, which has become an unfortunate norm. If the government can build a multibillion-dollar firewall to counter misinformation, it can also craft a comprehensive policy to combat gender-based harassment.
