Joanne and Esther bond at their significant others’ basketball game Nobody wants that It seemed like a party and a star Jackie Tohn share what it was like to film.

On stage, Joanne (Kristen Bell) tries to befriend Esther (Tohn) as they are in relationships with a pair of siblings. The show, created by Erin Fosteris based on the budding romance between sex podcaster Joanne and unconventional but hot rabbi Noah (Adam Brody) despite family disapproval and religious differences. Noah’s older brother, Sasha (Timothy Simmons), is married to Esther and they have a 13-year-old daughter Miriam.

At one point, Joanne agrees to go to Noah’s basketball game for the sole purpose of hanging out with Esther and her mom’s team. The outing doesn’t go as planned until Joanne and her sister, Morgan (Justine Lupes), pop a balloon for women to shoot. According to Tohn, however, the women did not actually consume alcohol during filming.

“She is so pretty; she is the best. It always makes me giggle when people think that I’m the nervous one, the mouth between the two of us,” Tohn said Us. “My personality is not going to be best friends with someone for 20 years who is touchy. He likes steak, he likes to make fun of me. It’s fun and easy to (work together). It’s like with anything with acting, if you’re in a scene with your partner and you have to pretend you don’t like someone. It’s not that hard.”

The on-screen basketball sideline party worked in Joanne and Morgan’s favor as they won over Esther and her friends, which also helped her continue her relationship with Noah. However, their romance stumbled when Joanne asked if she wanted to convert to Judaism for Noah, but the pair worked through their issues by the end of the finale.

“I don’t think it’s going to be easy, but I think they’re going to have a relationship,” Tohn theorized Wednesday. “I think because Season 1 is so dreamland, they’ll probably get into a more real relationship. I mean, they did it a little bit because it made her “shit” and she was just like “That can’t work. What do we do? But maybe just more relationship stuff. I mean, we’ll see.”

Foster, whose marriage to Simon Tikhman inspired Nobody wants that scenariocurrently writing season 2.

“I think the stories will expand and I’ll let our brilliant writers tell us where that goes,” Tohn teased. “We’ll see. We love drama!”

Meanwhile, Tohn — like us — is obsessed with the entire first season, including Joanne and Noah. swoon-worthy first kiss.

“We did a screening (of the first two episodes) … and we slid out of our seats,” Tohn recalled. “I mean, it’s like, ‘Are you kidding me? What is the deal? I don’t even understand. KB talks about grabbing the face and neck and woo!”
