North Dakota St. handles Northern Iowa 42-19; enters the bye on a nine-game winning streak

FARGO, ND (Valley News Live) – North Dakota’s top-ranked St. The Bison finally got to the bye week on Saturday and they came away with their ninth straight win, a 42-19 victory over the Northern Iowa Panthers.

Head coach Tim Polasek wanted his team to get off to a fast start, and it won’t get any faster than the kickoff.

TK Marshall took the kick back 100 yards to the house to give NDSU a 7-0 lead.

From there, the Bison offense took over both on the ground and through the air. Marty Brown rushed for 124 yards and a touchdown on 18 carries, while Cam Miller was 17-of-20 for 216 yards and two touchdowns.

Miller also broke the school record Saturday for most pass attempts without an interception at 311, breaking Trey Lance’s record of 307.

The upcoming bye week now allows NDSU to take a look at the big picture for the rest of its season.

“It’s time to start talking about controlling our destiny in terms of establishing home field advantage and we’re going to defend the dome, but we’ve got to win the dome the rest of the way,” head coach Tim Polasek said. .

“November is huge because you’re either going to remember November or you’re going to want to forget about it as quickly as possible, and we’re positioning ourselves to make a run.”

The ultimate goal is in front of this team, and according to Cam Miller, the reunion can be beneficial to accomplishing that.

“I think everybody just needs a little rest for their bodies and their minds,” quarterback Cam Miller said. “All our goals are ahead of us, so what does it even mean to be number one? Any team can beat anyone and we are only focused on our goals. We’re not worried about being number one, we want to be number one at the end of the year.”

After the bye week, North Dakota St. will host Missouri St. in the Harvest Bowl on Nov. 16 at 2:30 p.m
