The status of two players is up in the air for the Magic

The Orlando Magic look to snap a three-game losing streak when they face the Dallas Mavericks on Sunday night. Tipoff is scheduled for 7:30 pm ET at the American Airlines Center in Dallas.

Orlando’s five-game road trip continues after the Magic dropped their first two contests since leaving home. After a three-point loss to the Chicago Bulls on Wednesday night and learning they will be without All-Star forward Paolo Banchero on Thursday, Orlando enters the contest coming off a 120-109 loss at Cleveland on Friday.

Dallas is coming off two full days of rest, but dropped their last outing to the Houston Rockets 108-102 at home. Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving combined for 57 points, but six Houston scorers reached double figures in the Rockets’ win. Sunday night’s contest will also be the first night of a back-to-back.

Ahead of Sunday night’s matchup between the Magic and the Mavericks, here’s the latest player status and health information for both teams:

Banchero (broken right oblique) is out indefinitely. He will be reevaluated in four to six weeks, and his return-to-play timeline depends on his body’s response to treatment.

Bitadze (left hamstring strain) has missed three straight games but has been ruled a game-time decision in each of the last two games.

Carter Jr. (right knee tendinitis) was a late addition to the Magic’s injury report Friday night in Cleveland, as Magic coach Jamahl Mosley said he learned the night’s original starting center would not be able to sustain the injury. He is in danger of missing a second straight game.

Exum suffered a wrist injury during training camp and has been out ever since.

Kleber suffered a hamstring strain in the second half of the second game of the season, and while Mavericks coach Jason Kidd assured there is no long-term concern over Kleber’s absence, he misses his fourth straight game , ruling against Magic.
