Police ask prosecutors to consider charging Russell Brand on sexual assault charges: report

In light of the 2023 Sunday Times report in which four women came forward and accused Russell Brand of sexual assault, rape and emotional abuseLondon’s Metropolitan Police have asked the Crown Prosecution Service to consider charging the actor over the claims.

Detectives investigating the allegations revealed on Saturday that they had interviewed “a man in his 40s” on “three separate occasions” in connection with the case and submitted the evidence file to prosecutors, according to The Guardian.

A representative for Brand did not immediately respond to Page Six’s request for comment.

The four women who accused Brand in the exposé claimed each incident occurred between 2006 and 2013.

One of the anonymous accusers, identified in the report only as Nadia, claimed she was raped by Brand “against a wall” in his Los Angeles home in 2012, when she was in her thirties.

“He is much taller than me. And he’s got that shiny look in his eye again. And I can’t move. And I said, ‘Get down, get down,'” she said, adding that the “Take it to the Greek” star, which was married to Katy Perry from 2010 to 2012, he allegedly did not wear a condom for this act.

Nadia then reported her injuries to a rape center the next day. Medical records were able to confirm her claims, according to the publication.

Another accuser claimed she was a minor at just 16 when she said Brand molested her. She said Brand referred to her as “the baby” during their relationship.

At the time of their interaction, Brand was 31 years old. She claimed the Forgetting Sarah Marshall star was “emotionally abusive and controlling” during their three-month relationship when he worked as a BBC presenter.

“I received two extremely disturbing letters, or a letter and an email, one from a mainstream television company, one from a newspaper, listing a litany of blatant and aggressive attacks,” he said. “Amidst this litany of stunning, rather baroque attacks are some very serious allegations which I absolutely reject.”

“When I was in the movies and I wrote about it extensively in my books, I was very, very promiscuous,” Brand continued.

“During that period of promiscuity, the relationships we had were absolutely always consensual.”
