Teddy Mellencamp divorce Edwin Arroyave after 13 years of marriage.

In a message posted on Instagram Saturday, November 2, the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum said her children are her top priority during this time of transition.

“After much care and consideration, I have made the difficult decision to file for divorce,” the 43-year-old reality star wrote in her statement. “My priority is my children and ensuring that every care is taken of their privacy and well-being throughout this new chapter.”

“Making a public statement is not something I wanted to do,” she continued, “but in an effort to protect my family from unwarranted speculation and rumors, I felt that being open, honest and vulnerable was the better way to go.

Less than 24 hours before her announcement, Mellencamp appeared at a live taping of hers Two T’s in a Bridge podcast with co-host Judge Tamra in Burbank, California. In the video, she can be seen interacting with fans before and after the taping and hasn’t talked about her personal life at all. Tamra’s husband Eddie Judge was in attendance, but Arroyave, 47, doesn’t appear to be.

Mellencamp – who is the singer’s daughter John Mellencamp — previously said Arroyave didn’t believe in marriage when they first met.

“He came home and he had tears in his eyes and I never saw him cry again,” Mellencamp said in a 2019 interview with Yahoo Lifestyle.

“And he put a blank check on the nightstand and said, ‘Hey, I just wanted to tell you I love you and I went to buy the ring today. I’m sorry. “I don’t believe in marriage and I don’t want you to break up with me.” “

“I felt like the life had just been sucked out of me,” she recalled.

Arroyave, who is the founder and CEO Skyline Securityhe ended up changing his mind, finally asking her to marry him the next day, on Christmas Eve.

“Your mind plays tricks on you, and at the end of the day, I knew this was the girl I wanted to spend the rest of my life with,” Arroyave said in the same Yahoo interview.

Mellencamp and Arroyave married in 2011 and share daughters Slate, 12, and Dove, 4, as well as son Cruz, 10. She is also the stepmother of Arroyave’s 15-year-old daughter Isabella.

Arroyave has yet to publicly comment on the split.
