A Lansdowne man is in custody accused of killing the mother of his child and her mother at a Willingboro Township, NJ home

Edwards is accused of shooting Catherine Nunez, 33, and her mother, Marisol Nunez, 54. Edwards and Catherine Nunez’s son was in the home at the time and was not injured.

Burlington County Prosecutor LaChia L. Bradshaw and Willingboro Township Acting Public Safety Director Capt. Ian Bucs gave this account:

Willingboro officers were called to the home in the first block of Harrington Circle shortly after 4 a.m. on Oct. 30 for a report of a burglary in progress.

Officers discovered the bodies in an upstairs bedroom. They were pronounced dead at the scene.

The investigation revealed that entry was made through a first floor window that had been broken. The suspected murder weapon was discovered outside the residence.

Edwards was charged with first-degree murder, first-degree burglary with a firearm, weapons offenses and endangering the welfare of a child.

Autopsies performed by Burlington County Coroner Dr. Ian Hood determined the cause of death for both victims to be multiple gunshot wounds.

The prosecutor credited several law enforcement agencies with the investigation, including the Lansdowne Police Department.
