BERKELEY COUNTY, SC (WCSC) – The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating a single vehicle crash that left one person dead.

The collision happened at approximately 6:20 a.m. Saturday on Cainhoy Road near Cedar Hill Lane.

Master Trooper Gary Miller said the 2002 GMC SUV was traveling west on Cainhoy Road when it went off the right side of the road, lost control and overturned.

The driver was the sole occupant of the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Berkeley County Coroner’s Office has not yet released the victim’s name.
