OKCPD seeks suspect in costly warehouse burglary

OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) — Oklahoma City police say they have not identified a second suspect accused of breaking into a Southeast Metro warehouse last week in an alleged attempt to steal copper.

Court documents say police received a call from the warehouse manager on Oct. 25 that he heard someone with a chainsaw inside and when he went to the southwest door of the building, a white male ran out the back and dropped wire from copper.

“There was extensive damage inside the building,” said Oklahoma City Police Sergeant Dillon Quirk. “It appears that several copper wires have been stripped inside the building.”

Officers set up a perimeter around the building, but after a search, they were only able to find one suspect, Dennis Norrbom, who was skateboarding into the warehouse.

Norrbom was taken into custody and booked on a theft complaint. He already had a previous burglary conviction in 2023.

Court documents say an officer discovered someone had broken an air conditioning vent on the side of the building and forced entry through a hole in the wall. Police believe the copper cables were being stripped to be stolen and sold illegally.

“It’s a really great price for value,” Quirk said.

The documents say more than $300,000 worth of damage was done inside the building, and power lines supplying the building were also down.

“That second person has not yet been identified,” Quirk said of potential leads to a second arrest. “Obviously, anyone who has information about this, we want to hear from them through Crime Stoppers.”

Police did not provide details on what the accused accomplice might look like, and the documents do not indicate whether Norrbom provided any information that could help the investigation.

If you know anything, you can contact Crime Stoppers at 405-235-7300.
