OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) – The first weekend in November looks set to be gloomy and wet as the first of many rounds of showers is set to arrive this afternoon. The morning hours will be mostly cloudy, dry and cool. Shortly after noon, showers and thunderstorms will begin to move into the extreme southern counties along the border of Nebraska and Kansas. Storms will move northeast, hitting the metro area by mid-afternoon. The severe threat is LOW. There is a chance for a strong thunderstorm in areas around York that could produce hail and damaging winds.

Also, showers are likely for all nearby college football games, so bring a rain jacket if you’re going to either game. Highs will be in the 50s and 60s. Lows tonight will be mild in the lower to mid 50s with mostly cloudy skies and scattered showers.

More chances for showers are likely early Sunday morning as well as late afternoon into the evening. Most of Sunday will be quiet and cloudy with highs in the mid to upper 60s.

Saturday through Tuesday we could see between 1-2″ of rain. By Wednesday, things will calm down with slightly cooler temperatures.
