Law enforcement agencies team up to keep Lincoln safe during Husker football game

LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) – The Nebraska State Patrol will work with several local law enforcement agencies to keep Lincoln safe during the Husker football game at Memorial Stadium on Saturday.

The The Huskers will face UCLA Bruins at 2:30 pm The game will be televised on the Big Ten Network with audio coverage from the Huskers Radio Network.

Troopers will work with the Lincoln Police Department, Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office, UNL Police Department and Nebraska Department of Transportation to keep fans safe while traveling to and from the game, as well as in and around the stadium.

β€œIt will be great to bring the Husker fans back to Lincoln on Saturday. Let’s all work together to make game day safe on the roads and in the stadium,” said Colonel John Bolduc, superintendent of the Nebraska State Patrol. “With the chance of rain during and after the game, fans should be patient on their way home and take extra care around pedestrians.”

NSP also encourages fans to check Nebraska 511 for the latest information on construction areas and any possible detours that may become necessary. Fans can hear the traffic reports from Trooper Brett before and after the game on the Huskers Radio Network broadcasts.

On the way: Fans should use the routes recommended by the Nebraska Department of Transportation. Fans coming from the east should take I-180 into downtown Lincoln. Fans coming from the west should take Highway 77 to Rosa Parks Ways in downtown Lincoln.

At the stadium: Fans needing assistance should contact any law enforcement officer or event staff member. Fans can also text 402-472-0800 to contact stadium dispatchers for assistance.
