Exclusive new video shows the chaos in downtown Orlando in the moments after Friday mass shootings.

People ran for the open doors and found refuge inside La Rosa on Orange Avenue. The club was just down the street from the suspect Jaylen Edgar17 years old, he was finally arrested.

“I heard gunshots,” guard Brandon Thomas said. “Then I saw a body hit the ground.”

Surveillance video from La Rosa shows Thomas outside the front door as people wait to enter. Then the kicks caught his attention.

“I’m not going to lie to you, it was excruciating, but at the end of the day I realized there are people out there who need help,” Thomas said.

Another angle shows the crushing of people once the instincts kicked in. Some of them fell to the ground and managed to get up only after the first wave cleared.

Inside the club, co-owner Justin Kihano said people hid behind the bar or lay on the floor.

“They were terrified, but I made sure to walk around the room to make sure everyone was calm,” Kihano said.

Kihano said the club sheltered people for about 10 minutes before communicating with police to make sure it was safe to let people out the back door.

While club staff did their best to protect people, the club’s money box was thrown onto the pavement amid the chaos. Surveillance video shows a man picking him up and walking away.

Kihano said there was about $5,000 inside.

“Whoever took the money put it to a good cause,” Kihano said. “Go give food to homeless people, pay your sister’s car ticket or something. Do something positive with it.”

Kihano said the Halloween crowd was the biggest of the year.

Edgar was accused first degree murder and attempted first degree murder and could be charged as an adult, officials said.
